Your tasks

As a member of the 3GPP 5G stack team you will be responsible for the design and implementation of specific 3GPP 5G signalling stack and protocol conformance related features as assigned by the project leader and the development of test procedures to ensure proper operation of those features.
You will investigate and provide solutions to customer requests.
You will learn about the development of complex software applications using C++ and Python and the strategies used for testing those applications.
You will work closely with industry experts in the UK and Germany and gain knowledge of wireless communications technologies and RF engineering.
You will have the opportunity to work closely with people active in 3GPP and contribute to the 5G standardisation process.
You will have the opportunity to contribute to ongoing process improvement within the team.

Your qualifications

Studying for a degree in electronic engineering, computer science or STEM course with programming modules
Some knowledge of object-oriented programming (such as C++ or similar)
Understanding of wireless telecommunications would be an advantage
Real time software development
Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Timescales: The placement will start in July 2024 and run for 12 months. We can be slightly flexible on the starting date.
